Fred Armisen sent Lorne Michaels a "permission slip" for SNL writer Julio Torres to film Los Espookys

Torres had to spend a portion of last season away from Saturday Night Live in order to shoot HBO's Los Espookys, which also counts Michaels as an executive producer. Torres explained that Armisen kind of “wrote the permission slip” for him to take time off from SNL.
