Nicole recently tweeted she's been vocal about her frustrations with the 2008-12 Fox sci-fi series, "but I guess now that black lives mattering is more 'popular' people want to pay attention to it now?" Nicole explained how she was frustrated with the repeated jokes about her character Astrid's name, as well as a director getting her real name wrong. She also recalled having to take the subway to the set, while other actors were driven. Asked why she didn't complain, Nicole tweeted: "I didn’t have a good relationship with the showrunners at all and it was my first show -- like many young women of color in TV, I was too nervous to say anything for fear of retaliation or getting fired. It wasn’t a safe space for me."
