Game of Thrones fan who paid for a plane banner is a "casual" viewer who started watching in January, says he did it as a joke

Ryan Geddes paid for the "Someone rewrite Game of Thrones Season 8 Plz" plane banner that was flown over Seattle on Wednesday with funds donated from a GoFundMe petition. It turns out, though, that he created the GoFundMe petition as a joke for his friends. Geddes describes himself as a "casual" fan who started watching Game of Thrones in January and binged through Season 7 before the Season 8 premiere. He says the effect of his banner was "a thousand times funnier than I thought it would be." Geddes also says he's now redirecting money from his stunt to Emilia Clarke's brain injury charity.
