HBO Max orders Julia Child drama pilot Julia sets its cast: Sarah Lancashire to play the renowned chef

Happy Valley star Lancashire is taking over the Julia Child role from Joan Cusack, who was attached to play Julia Child when the show was first announced last year but fell out of the project. Tom Hollander, Brittany Bradford, Bebe Neuwirth and Isabella Rossellini are also joining the cast. Hollander will play Paul Child, Julia's husband. Bradford will play a producer at WGBH, who champions Child. Neuwirth will play Child's best friend and biggest champion. And Rossellini will play Simca, co-author of Mastering the Art of French Cooking. Julia is from Party of Five co-creator Chris Keyser.
