After years of dominance, HBO is at a crossroads following the loss of Game of Thrones and Veep as it prepares to take on new competition from Disney, Apple and a slew of other streaming services. “I have the benefit of being here for 15 years, so I’ve heard this over and over again,” says HBO programming president Casey Bloys. “This is the world we live in, and our formula of curation and betting on people we believe in and doing the hard work, it pays off." He adds: “I’m not going to say I’m not worried. You can’t do this job without being worried.
