Pound, one of the most influential members of the International Olympic Committee who was the first to raise the possibility in February 2020 of the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics getting postponed due to the coronavirus, says it's unlikely that the Winter Olympics will be postponed or canceled. But there's still a chance. “The concern is about all the people who are not yet in China, if, one by one, they get picked off and you lose a bobsledder here, a skater there,” Pound tells USA Today. “If you got to the point where there were only Chinese athletes, then no, these aren’t the Olympic Games and they wouldn’t be recognized as such.”
