The two HBO mainstays are producing a TV series inspired by the five-part podcast Nice White Parents from Serial and The New York Times that launched last July. In it, reporter Chana Joffe-Walt examines the 60-year relationship between white parents and the public school down the block. Variety reports the show, which has received a pilot commitment, "is described as a satirical look at the conflict and comedy that arise when highly resourced white parents, who claim to have the best intentions, wield their influence over generations of black and brown students within the NY public school system."
