Busy Tonight ended just as Philipps is becoming more relevant thanks to the national conversation about reproductive rights following Alabama's abortion ban. But Philipps, who launched her show less than seven months ago, was never given the time to find her voice, as Eric Deggans points out. "You know, it takes a long time for late-night hosts to find a consistent voice and audience," says Deggans. "I mean, NBC gave Conan O'Brien two years to figure it out when they hired him to host late night. Busy Philipps has been on the air since October." ALSO: Philipps' "always-on attitude" detracted from Busy Tonight.
