Using the hashtag #JusticeForJanet, Janet Jackson fans vented on Twitter that it's unfair Timberlake is exonerated while Jackson continues to be ostracized for the 2004 Super Bowl Halftime Show Nipplegate incident. “Everything about Timberlake being allowed back to the Super Bowl, for his third performance, feels wrong,” says Carron J. Phillips. “Because unless Timberlake brings Janet Jackson on stage to publicly apologize to her, or let her perform, then there will always be a part of me, and many others, who will always look at Timberlake with ‘the side-eye’ for blowing the best opportunity he’s ever had to make up for the lowest moment in his career. An NSYNC reunion would be good to see, and so would a medley of all his hits. But, unless Timberlake comes up with a way for Jackson to get some ‘nipplegate’ redemption, it will be a pointless performance.”
