Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show becomes the first late-night show to return to the studio

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo welcomed Fallon back via Zoom to Studio 6A for tonight's show, featuring house band The Roots, no audience and a limited crew. The Tonight Show, which last filmed in studio in early March, will employ social distancing as well as all of the health and safety guidelines as approved by New York authorities. Fallon kicked off his first show back with an elaborate mask-wearing opening. He sat on a stool in his empty studio, saying: "I’m here to show you that there is a light at the end of the tunnel if we all do our part to keep each other safe...I don’t know if anyone else feels this way, but any type of normalcy feels great. Hopefully we can put a smile on your face for an hour every night and bring you a bit of normal. These are the hardest times to do comedy but they are also the times we need it the most. Maybe that’s why comedy was invented. Chew on that." Fallon also sang "It's Beginning to Look Like Normal" and showed a "Masculine Man Masks Commercial."
