Kimmel proceeded with Wednesday's interview, despite criticism from election integrity advocates such as Common Cause and the League of Women Voters of the United States that Lindell was being given a national broadcast platform to spew his election misinformation. Before Lindell came out, Kimmel had on his Mike Lindell impersonator for his monologue, played by James Adomian. During the interview, Kimmel tried to compare Lindell to Hunter Biden since they both emerged after battling crack and cocaine addiction. “I worry about you,” Kimmel said. “I feel like you are maybe self-destructive, that you have lost everything repeatedly so many times in your life.” But as Matt Wilstein notes, "ultimately, as could have been expected, Lindell emerged relatively unscathed, fully in on the joke, and laughing it up with the two comedians as Kimmel cut to commercial."
