Falsey's death Jan. 3 from complications of a head injury sustained in a fall at home, as confirmed by his brother to The New York Times, comes less than two months after it was announced that he and fellow Northern Exposure co-creator Josh Brand were working on a CBS reboot of their Emmy-winning series with Rob Morrow and John Corbett. Falsey and Brand co-created St. Elsewhere, I'll Fly Away and Northern Exposure, three of TV's most innovative series. In 1992, Brand and Falsey won outstanding drama series and writing Emmy Awards for Northern Exposure and for writing the pilot of I'll Fly Away, whose writers included The Sopranos creator David Chase. Falsey and Brand also co-created Amazing Stories with Steven Spielberg.
