Saturday Night Live announced during this week's show that Mulaney is scheduled to return to host on Feb. 26 with musical guest LCD Soundsystem. It will mark Mulaney's return to SNL after his rehab stint. It will also mark his fifth time hosting, thus becoming the 22nd person to join The Five-Timers Club. Mulaney made his hosting debut in April 2018, he returned in 2019 and hosted two episodes in 2020. Mulaney won't, however, be the fastest person to join The Five-Timers Club. Buck Henry made his SNL hosting debut in January 1976 and joined the yet-to-be-established club in November 1977. Steve Martin joined the club a year and half after his October 1976 hosting debut. Additionally, Alec Baldwin, John Goodman, Elliott Gould and Tom Hanks all joined The Five-Timers Club in under five years.
