Jon Bernthal's American Gigolo TV reboot gets a Showtime series order

The TV series adaptation of Richard Gere's 1980 neo-noir film has been picked up to series 15 months after Showtime ordered the pilot. Bernthal will play the titular Julian Kaye, the same character Gere played in the film American Gigolo has been in development at Showtime since 2016.
