“I got to have multiple chances, which a lot of people don’t get, and a lot of guys who are white and look like me have those chances,” says Klepper, whose new Comedy Central show Klepper was announced when The Opposition with Jordan Klepper was canceled. Klepper says he brings that awareness of his white privilege to his show. “The episode where I got arrested was the one time we really crossed over. ‘I will be a part of your cause. I will stand with you, I will get arrested with you,’” Klepper tells The Huffington Post. “But I want to be very clear that that’s a luxury that I have. It’s a privilege. And that was a thing we started to deal with as the season progressed. We were really open about the types of stories we were telling — and also, yeah, I’m a white guy who has the privilege to drop in and be a part of these stories.”
