The PBS documentarian has been collecting quilts for more than four decades, and 28 of them will be on display for the first time as part of the “Uncovered: The Ken Burns Collection” at the International Quilt Study Center & Museum in Lincoln, Nebraska. “A quilt greets you on many levels,” he says. “It has its stunning initial design, and that draws you into it — established patterns like a crazy quilt or a log cabin quilt. I’m less interested in that than in just how beautifully they’ve realized that.”
