Netflix says the Black-ish creator's comedy -- the first pickup as part of lucrative overall TV deal -- will pull the curtain back and reboot the “family sitcom” in a way we’ve never seen before, using Barris’ irreverent, highly flawed and unbelievably honest approach to parenting, relationships, race and culture. Barris will make his acting debut on Black Excellence that, according to Deadline, will be in the vein of Larry David on Curb Your Enthusiasm. Jones, whose TBS comedy Angie Tribeca was canceled yesterday, will also serve as executive producer.
