They're teaming with Universal Content Production on an untitled series on the first Black students to attend the all-white Central High in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1957 following the 1954 landmark U.S. Supreme Court Case Brown v. Board of Education. The integration sparked rioting and President Dwight D. Eisenhower to call in the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army to protect the nine students. The series is based on the best-selling memoir A Mighty Long Way: My Journey to Justice at Little Rock Central High by Carlotta Walls Lanier, the youngest member of the Little Rock Nine and the first African American female to graduate from the integrated school. Eight members of the Little Rock Nine are still alive.
The untitled series will be written by Eisa Davis, a playwright, former She's Gotta Have It writer and actress on Succession. MacFarlane and Boseman will serve as executive producers.
