Haake was covering the George Floyd protest late last night in Washington, D.C. when he was struck by a rubber bullet while reporting live on MSNBC. Haake later tweeted: "Thanks to everyone who sent kind messages after this scary moment. I’m fine, thanks especially to our crew & security team. I have some souvenir welts on my side to show for it. And sorry for cursing on tv. Those rubber bullets/pellets/bean-bags hurt!" Haake was hit with a rubber bullet one day after his MSNBC colleague Ali Velshi was also hit with a rubber bullet and tear-gassed while covering the protests in Minneapolis.
