Robbie and Shameless' John Wells and Molly Smith Metzler are adapting Stephanie Land's bestselling 2019 memoir Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother’s Will to Survive. Written by Metzler, it will tell the story of a single mother who turns to housekeeping to—barely—make ends meet as she battles against poverty, homelessness, and bureaucracy.
