Matt LeBlanc: I passed on playing Modern Family’s Phil Dunphy

The former Friends star says the role "came across my desk,” but he quickly realized “I’m not the guy for this. I’d be doing the project an injustice to take this. I know what I can do, I know what I can’t do. Plus, I’m having too much fun laying on the couch.” Had LeBlanc appeared on Modern Family, he would’ve been reunited with Ed O’Neil. LeBlanc had a brief stint on Married with Children playing Kelly Bundy’s boyfriend. The role led to a spinoff, Top of the Heap, with actor Joseph Bologna playing his father. (Bologna died last week.)
