Several changes to Emmy-eligible short series seem to be inspired by The Good Place writer's web series. After An Emmy for Megan showed an extremely short episode to point out the fact that there was no rule for length for a short series, the TV Academy established that every episode must be at least two minutes long. The TV Academy hasn't confirmed, however, if An Emmy for Megan did influence the changes. “I thought it was better than winning an Emmy,” Amram says of the changes. “Dozens of people win an Emmy every year, but how many people precipitate a rule change that theoretically is permanent? That’s like the ultimate Emmy!”
