Meghan McCain apologizes for defending Trump's "racist rhetoric" after John Oliver called her out

On Last Week Tonight, Oliver called McCain a hypocrite for tweeting "Stop Asian Hate" last week when a year ago she defended the former president's use of the phrase "China virus." McCain, who was't on The View this morning apologized via a statement. "Meghan condemns the reprehensible violence and vitriol that has been targeted towards the Asian American community," McCain's spokesperson told EW in a statement. "There is no doubt Donald Trump's racist rhetoric fueled many of these attacks and she apologizes for any past comments that aided that agenda."
