“The parties have resolved their differences, and Megyn Kelly is no longer an employee of NBC,” NBC News said in a statement Friday night, two-and-a-half months after her ouster from Megyn Kelly Today over her blackface controversy. According to The New York Times, Kelly will be paid roughly $30 million, which is the balance of her three-year $69 million deal. In the 11 weeks since her departure, Kelly has earned roughly $5 million. Meanwhile, Today's 9 a.m. ratings have risen to roughly 2.9 million viewers from an average of 2.4 million with Megyn Kelly Today. Perhaps because her exit deal was looming, Kelly briefly spoke last night to TMZ, telling the outlet that she plans to be back on TV in 2019.
