Netflix has given a 16-episode order to the husband-and-wife comedy team's new series God's Favorite Idiot, which Falcone will write while both serve as executive producers. "In God’s Favorite Idiot, Mid level Tech support employee Clark Thompson (Falcone) finds love with co-worker Amily Luck (McCarthy) at exactly the same time he becomes the unwitting messenger of God," according to Variety. "Also, there’s roller skating, a lake of fire and an impending apocalypse." Their longtime collaborator Michael McDonald will direct God's Favorite Idiot. McCarthy and Falcone, who have been married since 2005 with two kids, have collaborated numerous times, including on the movies Bridesmaids, Life of the Party and the recently released Superintelligence. They also have served as executive producers on TV Land's Nobodies and Little Big Shots, which McCarthy hosts.
