Marvel Studios is developing a show revolving around Ms. Marvel, its first Muslim superhero, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Ms. Marvel, which Marvel has yet to confirm, would revolve around teenager Kamela Khan, who broke ground by becoming Marvel's first Muslim character to lead her own comic book title. "Her identity as a Pakistani-American living in a religious family in New Jersey whilst trying to find her own way has been a major focus of the stories. Her powers have been described as polymorphous, meaning she has the ability to stretch and change her shape," says The Hollywood Reporter. British writer and comedian Bisha K. Ali, who wrote for Hulu's Four Weddings and a Funeral, is set to write the series and serve as its showrunner. The potential series comes 15 months after Marvel Studios boss said he expected Ms. Marvel to become part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “Captain Marvel’s shooting right now with Brie Larson,” Feige told the BBC in May 2018. “Ms. Marvel, which is another character in the comic books, the Muslim hero who is inspired by Captain Marvel, is definitely sort of in the works. We have plans for that once we’ve introduced Captain Marvel to the world.”
