As Buzzfeed News notes, despite Markle saying in her CBS special that British media drove her to having suicidal thoughts, it was business as usual at the tabloids last week. During the special, Markle explained how media coverage got the story of her making Kate Middleton cry wrong. That it was actually Kate who made her cry. The Telegraph's Camilla Tominey wrote the story that Meghan made Kate cry in November 2018 based on anonymous sources. "And yet, the day after the interview, Tominey appeared as a royal expert on the Today show on NBC in the US and This Morning on ITV in the UK and was quoted in the New York Times and by CBS News," says Buzzfeed News' Ellie Hall. "With the exception of her appearance on This Morning, she was not questioned about how she’d written the story that Meghan explicitly denied."
