The prospects for a Season 5 renewal for the crime drama starring Jaimie Alexander and Sullivan Stapleton look a lot murkier following NBC's decision to keep the show sidelined for May sweeps, which began last night. Instead of returning May 3 and airing its Season 4 finale on May 17, as previously scheduled, Blindspot will return after sweeps, on Friday, May 24. The season's final two episodes will air the following week, on May 31. Creator Martin Gero had previously told TVLine the "huge" finale, which was shot on location in Iceland, will “reinvent the show in a huge way" with “a twist and a dimensionality that we have not been able to play with yet.”
