The Memphis-based legal drama starring Smits and Caitlin McGee will wrap production after its initial 10-episode order. This is despite NBC ordering six additional scripts ahead of its series premiere that now won't be produced. NBC's decision doesn't mean Bluff City Law is officially canceled. As The Hollywood Reporter notes, NBC "will evaluate the show's performance in delayed viewing and on digital platforms before making a final decision." The first four episodes that have aired so far have averaged 4 million viewers. NBC's decision comes three days after it decided to pull new comedy Sunnyside from its schedule to finish its run on its digital properties.
