Game of Thrones alum Dempsie will play Gordon Cooper, the youngest member of the Mercury Seven, in the TV adaptation of Tom Wolfe's historical non-fiction book. Murphy Brown alum McDorman will portray Alan Shepard, who became the first American to travel into space in 1961.
