Female animal docuseries Queens had to ensure that its coronavirus precautions were considerate not just of the local populations, but of the animal subjects. “We actually canceled a shoot we were planning to do with bonobos in the Congo,” said Queens showrunner Vanessa Berlowitz. “We’ve been thinking a lot about how do we socially distance from monkeys who might be naturally curious and want to come close to us? You can’t necessarily prepare for that.
