The Russian Doll star is teaming with the Knives Out and Star Wars: The Last Jedi director on a 10-episode mystery drama series with a premise that is being kept under wraps. "My elaborate ruse to hang out more with @nlyonne. And it WORKED!" tweeted Johnson, who will serve as creator, writer and director of Poker Face. Johnson did offer a clue about the series to Deadline, explaining: “I’m very excited to dig into the type of fun, character driven, case-of-the-week mystery goodness I grew up watching. It’s my happy place. Having Natasha as a partner in crime is a dream, and we’ve found the perfect home at Peacock.” Poker Face is one of four MRC Television projects to receive a straight-to-series order. “Rian Johnson’s distinct sensibility and talent for telling edge-of-your-seat mysteries is a massive gift for Peacock, and we can’t wait for audiences to delve into each case,” said NBC Universal's Lisa Katz. “Paired with the acting genius of Natasha Lyonne, this series will be entertaining and addictive.”
