The Kiernan Shipka-led Netflix drama is the second Riverdale spinoff to be canceled in the past week, after The CW axed Katy Keene last Friday. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will end with an eight-episode fourth season (Part 4) this fall, for a total of 36 episodes, including a 2018 Christmas special. Originally developed for The CW, Sabrina premiered on Netflix just before Halloween in 2018. “Working on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has been an incredible honor from Day One,” said Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who created the Sabrina revival. “The cast, beginning with Kiernan as everyone’s favorite teen witch, has been an absolute joy. I am beyond thankful to the crew, writers, editors, assistants, and everyone for pouring so much love into this dark dream of a show. I’m also grateful to our partners at Netflix, Warner Bros., Berlanti Television and Archie Comics for letting us tell the story we wanted to tell, the way we wanted to tell it. We can’t wait for everyone to see Part Four.” As The Hollywood Reporter points out, this has been a rough week for Aguirre-Sacasa, who also co-created Katy Keene. Last week, ABC passed over The Brides, his Dracula vampire soap.
