Netflix orders Ryan Murphy’s The Politician, starring Tony winner Ben Platt and, possibly, Barbra Streisand and Gwyneth Paltrow

Netflix won a bidding war against other streaming players for The Politician, which has been given a two-season order. Details about the plot are being kept under wraps, according to Deadline, which describes The Politician as a “a one-hour comedy with social commentary.” If Paltrow and Streisand come aboard, they’ll serve as producers, with Streisand also likely to direct.
