Netflix orders Sweet Tooth, about a boy who's part deer, starring Will Forte and James Brolin

Forte and Brolin will join Christian Convery in the eight-episode Robert Downey Jr.-produced series. Based on Jeff Lemire's DC Comics Vertigo comic book of the same name, Sweet Tooth “is the broad appeal, family-friendly, storybook adventure of Gus (Convery) — part deer, part boy — who leaves his home in the forest to find the outside world ravaged by a cataclysmic event," according to the official description. "He joins a ragtag family of humans and animal-children hybrids like himself in search of answers about this new world and the mystery behind his hybrid origins.” Brolin will serve as narrator. Arrow showrunner Beth Schwartz and Hap and Leonard co-creator Jim Mickle will serve as co-showrunners. Sweet Tooth was previously ordered as a Hulu pilot in November 2018.
