The breakout inner-city Los Angeles teen comedy will end with its upcoming 10-episode Season 4, up from the eight-episode Season 3. Production on the final season is scheduled to begin March. It's unclear when the final season will premiere. Stars Sierra Capri, Jason Genao, Brett Gray, Diego Tinoco, Jessica Marie Garcia and Julio Macias will all return. As The Hollywood Reporter's Lesley Goldberg points out, Netflix has a penchant for ending scripted series after three to four seasons as the cost of later seasons skyrockets due to increased salaries. "The renewal news comes after central stars Capri, Genao, Gray and Tinocoall, joined by Garcia, negotiated sizable salary increases that included a potential fourth and fifth season," says Goldberg. "The decision to end the series comes as the five will see their per-episode fees jump from $200,000 for seasons one and two to $650,000 for season three. As part of the July 2019 renegotiation, the cast was poised to see their pay bump to $850,000 for season four, with a potential jump to $1.05 million should there have been a fifth cycle."
