Alison Brie is reteaming with GLOW creators Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch on the female-driven anthology series that's been in the works since 2018, also starring fellow big-name actresses Nicole Kidman, Cynthia Erivo and Merritt Wever. As part of a new overall deal with Apple TV+, Flahive and Mensch will adapt Cecilia Ahern’s Roar, a book of 30 short stories, each featuring a woman exploring a different absurd contradiction or issue in her life. According to the description, the book "explores the endless ways in which women blaze through adversity with wit, resourcefulness, and compassion. Ahern takes the familiar aspects of women's lives -- the routines, the embarrassments, the desires -- and elevates these moments to the outlandish and hilarious with her astute blend of magical realism and social insight." Each of the eight half-hour Roar episodes will be told from a female point of view. Ahern previously co-created the two-season 2007-2009 Christina Applegate-led ABC comedy Samantha Who?
