The Academy Awards dipped below 10 million viewers for the first time ever. That's a 13.75 million viewer drop-off from last year's 23.6 million. The 2020 ceremony fell from 29.6 million in 2019. The first-ever pandemic Oscars, held two months later than usual, was expected to have a viewership low.
