Oscars to recognize Kobe Bryant during this year's ceremony

“We can confirm that Kobe Bryant will be acknowledged in the telecast,” the Academy said in a statement today. It's unclear if that acknowledgment will happen during the In Memoriam segment or separately. Although Bryant won an Oscar in 2018 for Best Animated Short, he wasn't a member of the Academy.
