Horgan won't be involved in the American adaptation of her BBC2 sitcom, which aired for two seasons between 2016 and 2019, plus a 2020 Christmas special. Motherland, which will be written by Grace and Frankie writer Julieanne Smolinski, is about navigating the trials and traumas of middle-class motherhood, looking at the competitive side and unromantic take on parenting, and not the cute and acceptable public face of motherhood.
