The Ben Stiller-directed classic 1994 Generation X film that he starred in alongside Winona Ryder and Ethan Hawke is getting the TV series treatment from the film's screenwriter Helen Childress, who wrote the original script when she was in her early 20s. According to The Hollywood Reporter, "the Peacock take is centered on the driven, idealistic Lelaina Pierce and her three best friends as they leave college and try 'adulting' in the 1990s. As the world around them is on the brink of a seismic shift, they struggle to hold onto who they are, and to each other." Childress will make the Reality Bites reboot with Good Girls creator Jenna Bans. Childress was a co-executive producer on Good Girls. Michael Shamberg, Stacey Sher and Danny DeVito, who produced the original movie, are also on board for the reboot. Stiller, however, is not attached to the reboot.
