The follow-up series to the NBC sci-fi series starring Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell is set in present time. "It’s been 30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett (Bakula) stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished," according to Deadline. "Now a new team has been assembled to restart the project in the hopes of understanding the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it." La Brea co-showrunners Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt are writing the new series, with Blindspot creator Martin Gero as executive producer. Quantum Leap co-creator Donald P. Bellisario will also serve as executive producer, while Deborah Pratt is on board to reprise her co-narrator role and serve as executive producer.
