Reality TV shows should take notice of the shorter seasons on Dancing with the Stars and American Idol

Idol is airing just 19 episodes this season, less than half of the Season 3 high of 45. Dancing with the Stars, which used to run 21 episodes a season a decade ago, will have just four with the all-athletes edition.
