Report: President Trump watches up to eight hours of TV a day — and views each day of work like a TV episode

  • A New York Times story based on 60 interviews with "advisers, associates, friends and members of Congress" -- that the paper tried to fact-check with the president himself -- revealed that Trump consumes television on his 60-inch TV set in his dining room and has a “Super TiVo" for recording cable shows. “Before taking office, Mr. Trump told top aides to think of each presidential day as an episode in a television show in which he vanquishes rivals,” reports The Times. “People close to him estimate that Mr. Trump spends at least four hours a day, and sometimes as much as twice that, in front of a television, sometimes with the volume muted, marinating in the no-holds-barred wars of cable news and eager to fire back.”

UPDATE: Trump denied on Twitter that he watches a lot of TV: "Another false story, this time in the Failing @nytimes, that I watch 4-8 hours of television a day - Wrong! Also, I seldom, if ever, watch CNN or MSNBC, both of which I consider Fake News. I never watch Don Lemon, who I once called the 'dumbest man on television!' Bad Reporting."
