Season 3 has already had five deaths in six episodes. That's compared to nine deaths in 22 Season 2 episodes and three in 13 Season 1 episodes, says Alex Zalben. "Riverdale has always been identified with murder," he says. "Season 1 kicked off with the death of local teen Jason Blossom (Trevor Stines). Season 2 introduced a serial killer called The Black Hood. But if you look at the numbers, overall there have been surprisingly few deaths on the show… Until Season 3, which has been a goddamn bloodbath."
