SNL cut Harvey Weinstein jokes after its dress rehearsal

And Lorne Michaels exacerbated the controversy by telling a Daily Mail photographer “it’s a New York thing” when asked about why the scandal was omitted. A source tells the New York Times the Weinstein controversy was tackled in a sketch and in several Weekend Update jokes. But they were cut after falling flat in dress rehearsals. The source also explained Michaels’ comment, saying that the Weinstein story seemed like a New York media story.
