Bullock, a 1987 graduate of East Carolina University, will join fellow Oscar winners Akiva Goldsman and John Legend as executive producers on the potential series, described as a dramedy set in the world of music and dance. Variety reports the untitled series "will take place in the American deep south in the 1980s, where one darkly off-beat young woman defies expectations and sets out in search of love, community, and an identity of her own." The project originated from conversations between Bullock and Goldsman, who won the Oscar for writing A Beautiful Mind. It will be written by The Originals vet K.C. Perry, who recently wrote the pilot for TNT's Constance starring Elisabeth Shue. Bullock is no stranger to TV producing, having executive produced George Lopez's self-titled ABC sitcom. UPDATE: Dawson's Creek creator Kevin Williamson, who went to college with Bullock, tweets: "First gay bar I ever entered was freshman year and Sandra was performing! Can't wait for this!"
