Showtime orders The L Word sequel

The L Word creator Ilene Chaiken is on board as executive producer for the new series. Playwright and screenwriter Marja-Lewis Ryan will serve as showrunner, while Jennifer Beals, Katherine Moennig and Leisha Hailey will reprise their roles and serve as executive producers as a new ensemble cast is unveiled. The L Word, which aired for six seasons from 2004 to 2009, celebrated its 15th anniversary earlier this month.
