Syfy cancels George R.R. Martin's Nightflyers after one season

Based on Martin's 1980 novella and the 1987 film of the same name, the expensive space drama -- a co-production with Netflix -- failed to "break through the clutter," according to The Hollywood Reporter. Syfy released the first season of Nightflyers in its entirety on its digital platform in December and over 10 straight nights on cable. ALSO: Nightflyers star David Ajala joins CBS drama pilot Under the Bridge.
