The Crown gets Tobias Menzies to play the older Prince Philip

The veteran of Rome and Game of Thrones and current star of Outlander and The Terror has signed on to co-star along with Olivia Colman for Seasons 3 and 4 of the Netflix series, playing Queen Elizabeth II's husband. He succeeds Matt Smith, who is eight years his junior. Menzies, 44, and Colman are the same age, born weeks apart. Paul Bettany was originally in early talks to play Prince Philip.
